*SELECTION :*
*Written Test/ Interview*
Candidates fulfilling all of the above criteria will be eligible for
appearing for Written Test (objective type consisting of two parts - General
Aptitude and Academic Knowledge). The candidates securing minimum qualifying
marks in the Written Test will be eligible for attending the interview as
per the policy of the Corporation.
The list of candidates eligible for the written test will be displayed on
the website.
The names of the candidates shortlisted for interview will be displayed on
the website.
Inorder to be eligible for selection, the candidates must secure minimum
qualifying marks, both, in the Written Test and Interview. The final
selection will be made from amongst the candidates, who have qualified both
the Written Test & Interview, on the basis of merit and subject to medical
fitness.
All the candidates shortlisted in the interview will be put thorough a
medical examination. Reference for a medical examination does not mean final
selection, which may please be noted.

*TRAINING, EMOLUMENTS AND PLACEMENTS: *

Selected candidates will be placed in the entry level in the Management
Cadre in "A" grade in the Salary Scale of Rs.12000 - 17500 plus VDA, HRA,
CCA, etc. and other perquisites as applicable to particular grade. The CTC
Compensation would be approx. Rs.5.71 lakhs per annum. Posting can be in
any Division/Department of the Corporation at any place in the country and
the services thereafter will be transferable as required by the Corporation.

*CONCESSIONS / RELAXATION:*
- Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / Persons with
disabilities (degree of disability 40% or above) as per Government
Directives.
- Age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy
Layer) and 10 years for PWD candidates
- Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu &
Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.
- Age relaxation by 5 years for Ex-servicemen & Commissioned Officers
(including ECOs / SSCOs) subject to rendering minimum 5 years military
service and fulfillment of other conditions prescribed by Govt. of India.
- Exemption from payment of application fee for SC/ST and PWD

- Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route to
examination centre for outstation SC/ST & PWD candidates, provided the
distance travelled is not less than 30 kms. (candidates opting for

STEP 2: Read CAREFULLY all the instructions given on the website.
*STEP 3:* Prepare a DD for the appropriate amount in favour of Hindustan
Petroleum Corporation Ltd. payable at Mumbai, as per the details below.
*General and OBC candidates are required to send a NON-REFUNDABLE crossed
Demand Draft for Rs.500/- as Application Fee drawn on "HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM
CORPORATION LIMITED" payable at Mumbai.* Candidates must write their name,
discipline and application no. on the reverse of Demand Draft. MO/IPO or any
other mode of payment will not be accepted. Applications of General and OBC
candidates without Demand Draft will not be considered.

The candidates whose application forms along with DD is received after due
date shall be rejected.
Application form received with more than one Demand Draft, a single Demand

*STEP 8:* Intimation regarding the written test will be sent to the eligible
candidates through e-mail tentatively after 10 days after closing of the
Advertisement (Candidates are advised to visit
www.hindustanpetroleum.com for printing Admit Card). In addition the
Admit Card for written test along
with specimen questions shall also be sent by post to the address provided.
However, HPCL will not be responsible for any loss of email/admit card sent,
due to invalid/wrong email id/non accesing of Email account/ /wrong postal
address/postal delays/loss in transit etc.
The admit card has to be duly signed by the candidate and photograph
affixed, and has to be produced at the time of written test.
The written test will be tentatively held on 16th July 2006.
*General Instructions*
All qualifications should be Full time regular course from a recognized Indian University/ Institute.
Do not attach certificates / marksheets etc. (except Demand Draft) along with application form.
Applications with incomplete / wrong particulars or not in the prescribed format or received after the due date will entail rejection and Demand Draft
will not be refunded.
The courses offered by Autonomous Institutions should be equivalent to the relevant courses approved/recognized by Association of Indian Universities
(AIU)/ UGC/AICTE.
Wherever CGPA or Letter Grade in a degree is awarded, its equivalent
percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms
adopted by University/Institute.
Request for change of center for written examination shall not be
entertained.
However HPCL reserves the right to cancel or add any centre depending on the
response in that area/centre.
HPCL shall not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit. No
request in this regard will be entertained.

Candidates belonging to OBC but coming in creamy layer and thus not entitled
to OBC reservation should indicate their category as "GENERAL"
Candidates presently employed in Government Departments / PSU's / Autonomous
Bodies have to produce NOC at the time of interview*.*
Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Mumbai.
The online registration site would remain open upto 12th June 2006. All
information regarding examination schedule etc shall be provided through
email/post.
In case of those SC/ST and PWD candidates who have been called for the
written test, the TA will be paid through an Account payee Cheque and will
be couriered at the residence address mentioned in the application, at a
later date. These candidates will be required to fill in the TA form at the
respective test centre and submit proof for travel undertaken.
All the details given in the online form will be treated as final and no
changes will be entertained. Furnishing of wrong/false information will lead
to disqualification and HPCL will not be responsible for any of the
consequences of furnishing of such wrong/false information.

*Since all the applications will be screened without documentary evidence,
the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position
to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment process,
it is found that the candidates have furnished false or wrong information,
